MID 4

HI MID4 3+3 | Tolhurst × Harley Ingleby | Thunderbolt Technology

Three boards in one.

The MID4 3+3 is the next chapter of the MID6, the most popular board in the range. Shaper Billy Tolhurst and two-time World Longboard Champion Harley Ingleby scaled the MID6 directly, refined it, and paired it with the 3+3 fin system. The result is a mid-length you can ride as a true quad, a true twin, or an asym.

You still get the MID6’s wave-catching ability and forgiving feel. The difference is that you can change how the board rides each session without buying another board.

The 3+3 Fin System

  • Quad: Run the black plugs for drive and hold.
  • Twin: Run the white plugs for a loose, skatey twin feel.
  • Asym: Run a twin on your toe-side rail and a quad on your heel-side rail.

If you’ve wanted to try a twin or an asym on a mid-length without committing to a dedicated board, this is the board for it.

What’s Changed from the MID6

  • Tighter nose: A quarter inch comes out of the width at one foot from the nose. That makes the board more comfortable in the pocket and in tighter sections, and it doesn’t cost any paddle power.
  • Flat entry with rail relief: Billy’s signature bottom lets the board carry a more performance-oriented rail without the stickiness of deep concaves. It’s forgiving if you ride it with extra volume and still responsive when you size down.
  • Four channels instead of six: Fewer channels open up the tail for the 3+3 setup. Drive stays the same, and the board feels a little freer through fat, slow sections.
  • New sizing: The range now goes down to 5'10". Smaller and higher-performance surfers can get MID6 DNA without the length.

Who It’s For

  • 5'10" / 6'0" / 6'2": Performance surfers and lighter riders who want a shorter, more responsive take on a proven mid-length.
  • 6'6" / 6'10" / 7'4": MID6 riders who want twin and asym options in a board that feels familiar.
